Back by popular demand, and now virtual!
Following the success of our in-person session, we’re bringing Icebreakers with Intention into a virtual format, making it accessible wherever you are.
Because icebreakers are often misunderstood.
They’re not just something you do at the start of a session, they’re a powerful way to shape energy, build connection, reduce tension, and create the conditions for meaningful work.
They impact the relational space.
Co-hosted by Carmen Geil and Nairy McMahon, this interactive session goes far beyond a list of activities.
Together, we’ll explore:
How to choose the right activity for the moment — based on energy, context, and need
The difference between icebreakers, energisers, warm-ups and more, and when each matters
How to facilitate in a way that feels natural, authentic, and aligned with both you and the group
When to plan and when to respond to what’s emerging in real time
We’ll also explore the unique considerations of working virtually, including how to create connection, engagement and energy through a screen.
This won’t be a sit-back-and-listen workshop.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Experience a range of activities first-hand
Practise and adapt them in small groups
Reflect on what works, why, and how to make it your own
Share insights and learn from others in the room
A clearer framework for choosing and using icebreakers intentionally
Greater confidence in facilitating activities in a way that feels true to you
A practical set of adaptable ideas you can use immediately (virtually or in-person)
Fresh energy, creativity, and a deeper understanding of how groups connect and learn
This will be a joyful, practical and engaging session, grounded in ORSC principles and rich with experimentation, reflection, and connection.
